The new Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard(2011)says the basic idea of compulsory education stage English course should be aimed at the needs of all students.It's no doubt that individual differences between students have been proved to be truly existing.The discrepancy is always a big problem,which is difficult to be solved.English teachers are trying their best to find a way to solve the problem.Teachers are supposed to carry out stratified teaching based on the students' difference in order to enable students to get fully developed.A lot of achievements about stratified teaching have already been obtained in research.But in rural junior middle school,there are many problems,such as large class capacity,uneven foundation of students' English learning,shortage of teachers' resources and heavy teaching tasks.All these things limit the implementation of stratified teaching.Facing these situations,the researcher thought about the design of stratified education guidance case in the English revision lesson instead of the new lesson so that our English teaching can focus on all the students with the purpose of the development of every student and let all the students get different levels of development and improvement of their English learning.So the researcher chose Class 1 Grade 8 and Class 2 Grade 8 in Banjing middle school in Rugao Nantong as the participants of this research,respectively as the experimental class and the control class in the teaching experiment.The students were divided into three groups implicitly according to students' current levels of English proficiency.The groups were called Level A,B and C respectively.The teacher tried to design different tasks to fit the three level groups respectively.After having conducted an experiment study on the stratified learning guide for a whole semester,the researcher have studied the analysis on the questionnaire,pre-test and post-test by SPSS statistical analysis software and the feedback collected from the interview.This study mainly explores the following: What impact does the use of stratified learning guide in the English revision lesson have on thestudents' emotion and attitude towards English learning;What impact does the use of stratified learning guide in the English revision lesson have on the students' autonomous learning ability and their academic achievement on different levels.The following conclusions can be drawn: Firstly,the use of stratified learning guide in the English revision lesson is to offer different layers of learning demands according to different students' actual requirements,then students are willing to participate in the activities actively.Students can gain the sense of fulfillment by solving different levels of problems so that students can increase the enthusiasm of learning English and also gradually overcome the inferiority and anxiety of some students at the same time.Thus the use of the stratified learning guide has positive effect on students' affect and attitudes.Secondly,in the whole process of the English revision lesson,every step is designed based on students' learning status and feedback.Students can strengthen their corpus consciousness.The use of the stratified learning guide in the English revision lesson has a positive influence on students' autonomous English learning ability including formulating their learning objectives,forming their learning initiative,developing their self-control and assessing their own learning.Thirdly,the students' English academic achievement has improved significantly by the use of the stratified learning guide in the English revision lesson.In the process of our English teaching,We can design the stratified learning guide of the English revision lesson according to different levels of students and use it reasonability.In this way,we can stimulate the students' potential learning,eliminate their fear and anxiety about English,increase their confidence in learning English,enhance their autonomous learning ability and improve their academic achievement.
