| The new round of curriculum reform is fully rolled out,and a series of new requirements and challenges have been put forward for junior middle school English teaching.Along with the deepening of the reform,there also appeared many problems,such as the students lack ability of self-learning and their ability of cooperation is weak,etc.Flipped classroom,born in the USA in 2007 and with widespread attention in the global education community,is a new teaching model and organization form of classroom teaching and thus provides new ideas and inspiration for education reform.The differences between the flipped classroom and the traditional teaching model is that it attaches great importance to students’ individual differences,and teachers can provide students with personalized solutions,emphasizing the students’ autonomous learning and independent problem solving skills.These characteristics are consistent with the requirements of new curriculum reform in junior middle school.The research method is comparative experiment method,and it tries to explore the effectiveness of flipped classroom in English listening teaching in middle schools in China.From September to November,2016,the author carried out the teaching experiment of flipped classroom in NO.25 Middle School of Shi Jiazhuang,involving80 students and a teacher in two parallel classes,Grade 8.The English teacher involving different listening teaching models in the two classes: traditional teaching model in the control class,and the flipped classroom model in the experimental classes.The purpose of this study is to investigate the following questions:(1)What is the attitude of the students towards implementation of flipped classroom teaching model in listening teaching?(2)What is the effect of the flipped classroom teaching model on the actual listening proficiency of junior middle school students?The results from the research present that the flipped classroom model improves students’ English listening scores in the classroom teaching middle school,and the students hold positive attitude to the flipped classroom model in English listening teaching.Based on the experimental process and data analysis of this research,the authorsuggests application of the flipped classroom may become a facilitator of listening teaching and it’s desirable for personalized teaching according to students’ different characteristics.Of course,the limitation and expectation for future research are also provided. |
