Study On The Improvement Of Nostalgia Therapy On Memory Impairment Of The Elderly In Institutions

At present,the aging of our country's population is deepening,and there are more and more problems.With the increase of age,the physical function of the elderly declines,and memory loss has become a major problem that endangers the health of the elderly.Memory loss,as a typical precursor of Alzheimer's disease,has attracted widespread attention from all walks of life.Intervention during the amnesia of the elderly can effectively prevent Alzheimer's disease.The main purpose of this research is to use the integrity of the long-term memory of the elderly with memory impairment,combined with their own experience and resources,under the guidance of the life review theory and the sustainability theory,using the method of group work,to integrate nostalgic elements and cognitive stimulation to intervene the cognitive function of the elderly with memory impairment.In the early stage of the study,the author conducted a general questionnaire survey and MMSE test on 100 elderly people in W institution.Among them,76 valid questionnaires were collected.Through the evaluation of 76 questionnaires,it was found that the elderly people in W institution mainly had three problems: the weakening of objective memory,the decline of attention and logical memory,and the impairment of language working memory.According to the principle of informed consent and voluntary,12 elderly people with MMSE score between 21 and 26 were selected as the research objects.According to the research strategy of randomized controlled experiment,12 elderly people were randomly assigned to the control group and the experimental group.The elderly in the control group received routine services from institutions,and the elderly in the experimental group were given 12 group activities integrating nostalgic elements and cognitive stimulation.The author divides the nostalgic group activities of the elderly with memory loss into three stages: the first stage is to recall the past together,actively use memory and maintain long-term memory;the second stage is cognitive stimulation to strengthen short-term memory ability and enhance concentration;the third stage is to review and share,strengthen memory and consolidate learning effect.After the group activity,the data before and after the intervention of the MMSE scale for the two groups were compared,combined with the interviews with the group members and the analysis of the filled-in subjective evaluation scale,and the following conclusions were drawn: First,social work is an important the non-pharmaceutical treatment method played an important role in intervening the cognitive function of the elderly with memory impairment;second,after the intervention of the nostalgic treatment group,the memory loss of the group members has been well improved,and the cognitive ability has been improved;Third,although the nostalgia treatment team has achieved certain results in the intervention of activities,there are still shortcomings,and the author needs to further explore and improve in the subsequent practical development.
