In the new era,the main contradiction of education in China has transformed into a conflict between the increasing public demand for high-quality education and the unbalanced quality of education.First-class universities have represented high-quality resources of China's higher education and their competition for entry opportunities has become fierce. In order to meet the demand of diversified admission mode, the autonomous admission becomes an important way of admission to enter a top-ranking university. However,it has been questioned and controversial. The stratum fairness of the autonomous admission has attracted widespread attention from all walks of society. The study explores stratum fairness in autonomous admission in first-class universities, which will help improve the opportunities for disadvantaged candidates to obtain high-quality higher education opportunities, meeting the needs of the masses for access to quality education opportunities, promoting the fairness and equity of autonomous admission in first-class universities, and promote the connotative development of higher education. This study selected five top universities in China as sample universities, randomly distributing 956 questionnaires,930 valid questionnaires, and the effective rate was 97.3%.From the aspects of parental education level, family annual per capita income, parental occupation type to investigate the students' background,SPSS19.0 software used to analyze the data, constructing regression models about rate of awareness, participation and admission, from the fairness of starting point, the process and result, dynamically analyse the influence of social stratum background on the access to first-rate universities' autonomous enrollment opportunities. The research found that the background of the class is significantly related to the opportunities for autonomous admission in first-class universities. The background of stratum has a significant positive effect on the degree of awareness, participation and admission rate of autonomous enrollment, and affects the fairness of the starting point, process, and outcome of autonomous enrollment in first-class universities. From the perspective of cultural reproduction and rational choice theory, this study deeply analyzes the impact of stratum background on the opportunities for autonomous admission. On the one hand, the dominant class converts the capital advantage indirectly into the performance of the children's academic ability. The children of different strata have a certain degree of ability differentiation. On the other hand, the rational choice inequality arising from the restriction of social strata structure is essentially the hidden exclusion mechanism, affecting the fairness of enrollment opportunities of autonomous admission.Based on the above research,we will analyze the issue of stratum fairness in the autonomous admission from aspects of autonomous admission policy, implementation process and supervision mechanism. To solve the above problems,we will improve policies and regulations to ensure fair admissions.Strengthen the effectiveness of implementation to demonstrate fair and high quality ideas.Improve the supervision mechanism to promote the transparency of the enrollment process.Introduce the third-party forces to promote the separation of recruitment and examination.
