Global warming is one of the most serious environmental problems currently, universities,as the most active institutions and places of research and social activities, should build a low carbon campus,to assume the responsibility of CO2 emissions, become a model and leader of the society. The main contents of this paper are as follows:Combined with other related concepts, this paper redefined the definition and connotation of low carbon campus.According to the construction principle of low carbon campus index system, low carbon campus index system was established, and low carbon campus situation of one university in Tianjin was expounded.Based on the low carbon campus index system, life cycle ecological footprint of one university in Tianjin was evaluated by using the method of life cycle assessment and ecological footprint theory combined with radar comprehensive evaluation method, and the ecological footprint index and radar map synthesis were calculation. At the same time, the qualitative and quantitative analysis on the development level of one university in Tianjin was made. The results showed that energy ecological footprint of one university in Tianjin occupied a large proportion and had a year-on-year growth trend.Water ecological footprint was stable and had a weak trend.Food ecological footprint and garbage ecological footprint remained stable and fluctuated. This paper analyzed ecological footprint of one university in Tianjin in2014 and compared it with some universities both at home and abroad to reveal the current situation, and provided a direction for future development of low carbon campus. This paper put forward a set of scientific and effective low carbon campus construction measures and suggestions for the construction of low carbon campus.
