Maths is a subject that studies space form and numerical relationship.The basis of it is “number” and “form”.The combination between number and form is not only helpful for the study of maths,but also deepens and widens the content of the maths.As many experts point out,students will soon forget what they have learned.However,what they have learned can shape their thinking through all their lives.The New Curriculum Standard asks students to understand maths through learning.As an important mathematical theory,the symbolic-graphic combination theory is a must-learn point for students.This thesis will take the junior high school textbook(the PEP edition)as the studying object.About how the symbolic-graphic combination theory is presented and applied in the textbook,I will analyze details on the basis of my own teaching experience by using the methods of document research,text analysis and case study.This thesis can be divided into five chapters.The first chapter include the background,the meaning,the method,the definition of the core concept(the symbolic-graphic combination theory and the textbook)and the literature review of the research.Chapter two introduces the theoretical basis of the study.The third chapter introduces application of this theory in the textbook,especially the application in the four aspects,number and algebra,space and form,statistics and probability as well as practice and synthesis.Chapter four talk about how to present this theory in the class through specific teaching cases.The last past put some suggestions after conclusions.Through analyzing and elaborating this theory,this thesis aims for students and teachers to fully understand this combination that is conveyed in the math knowledge.In this way,teachers can help students better understand this theory in the process of practical teaching.Furthermore,via the study of the textbooks and the New Course Standard,I present some advice to consult for the teachers.Hopefully,for the further theoretical study and practical teaching,there will be some reference values.
