Objective: This research aims to acknowledge the general mental health status of overweight and Obese Students in a college in Shenyang,to analyze the factors affecting the mental health of overweight and obese college Students,and then puts forward the policies and measures to promote the mental health of college students in this group,so as to provide reference for the management department of students to make plans.Methods: A total of 4444 college students from grade 2014 to grade 2016 in a university in Shenyang were selected as the research objects.The body mass index(BMI)was calculated by the height and weight data of the 2016 physical fitness test in the university.According to the BMI value of screening overweight and obesity among 1023 people,a self-designed basic information questionnaire was made and we usded it with psychological symptom checklist(SCL-90)to conduct a questionnaire survey with 1001 valid questionnaires and efficiency 97.85%.And then we analysed the factors and influence of mental health status of the overweight and obese students.Results: 1.The scores of phobia factors were higher than the national norm,and other remaining 8 factors of somatization,compulsion,interpersonal sensitivity were lower than that of the National College students.2.Among the 1001 overweight and obese college students,there were 446 students with mild psychological problems,accounting for 44.56%.The prominent psychological problems are compulsion,followed by interpersonal sensitivity and other factors.There are 65 students with moderate psychological problems,accounting for 6.49 %.The prominent psychological problems are compulsion,hostility and interpersonal sensitivity.3.Among the overweight and obesity college students,the male students have significant higher scores than female in somatization,hostility,paranoia,psychosis,the other these five factors(P<0.05);urban students have higher scores in hostile and body the two factors than rural students(P<0.05);the students without married parents have higher scores in the total and total average abnormal compulsion,depression and anxiety and other the four factors than the students whose parents have normal marriage status(P<0.05);The group of? 19 year old age have higher scores than the group of ?21 students in obsessive-compulsive factors;the first or second grade students have significantly higher socres than the third grade students in the total score and total average score obsessive-compulsive symptoms,interpersonal sensitivity,depression and hostility factors;the second grade students have significantly higher socres than the third grade students in somatization,anxiety,phobia and psychosis factors;The students from the high condition famiy have significantly higher scores than the others in the body;and the students from the high condition family have significantly higher scores than the median family students in paranoid ideation;the students with the family condition that is below the average have significantly higher scores than the others in depression factor;the students whose father`s education level is junior college and above have highter scores in mental factors than those whose father`s education level is Junior high school and below.4.The self-assessment results of logistic regression analysis of mental symptom influencing factors show that grade and family economic status is the risk factors of influencing the over-weight and obese students 'mental health.The over-weight and obese students in low grade are more likely to have mental problems than the high grade,and the students whose family economy in upper class are more likely to have mental problems than the middle class.Conclusions: 1.The mental health status of overweight and obese college students in Shenyang is lower than the national youth level,higher than the National Undergraduate level.There are 65 students with obvious psychological problems,accounting for 6.49%.The prominent psychological problems are compulsion,hostility and interpersonal sensitivity.2.Gender,examinee origin,parents' marital status,age,grade,family economic status and education level of father influenced the scores of SCL-90.3.The result of analysis shows that grade?family economic status are the risk factors influencing overweight and obese college students' mental health.
