Objective: The aim of the project is to to study the mental healthstatus, mental issues of medical students and find the main factors thatplay important role in these issues; The thesis discussed on themaintenance and improvement measures and/or methods of the medicalstudents’ mental health, Thus to provide an scientific base fordeveloping the mental health education and guidance for the medicalcolleges and universities as well as improving the level of mentalhealth of medical students.Method:The1405medical college students in centain medicalcollege of Shenyang were random selected as the research object. Thesurvey was carried out by using the method of questionnaire, and thepatients were required a to fill in the SCL-90scale and self-made scale.The data obtained was imported Into the excel software and the databasewas set up。SPSS15.0software was employed toto investigate thedescription and evaluation of the psychological problems distribution ofthe population. By such as somatization, obsessive-compulsivesymptoms, interpersonal sensitivity, depression and anxiety, hostility andterror, paranoid and psychosis symptoms,9factor scores, todividedequally the as the dependent variable; The factors Such as gender, BMI(body mass index), whether they the only child or not, living expenses, physical health status, and family relationship, parents’ marital status andtheir relationship, study pressure, life pressure, sleep quality,interpersonal relationship, environmental impact, social support, love,employment pressure, etc. were treated as the independent variable tocarry out the multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Result:The survey showed that the main mental issues arecompulsion, interpersonal tension, depression, paranoid and hostileamong the1405medical college students in the investigation. In theSCL-90scale, it has showed that among the9factors, the score of4factors such as somatization, interpersonal tension, depression andhostility are lower than normal; on the contrary, the factors such as theobsessive-compulsive symptoms, terror and psychosis symptoms arescored higher than normal (P<0.01). The girls in each grade haveshowed that in7factors such as interpersonal tension, depression,anxiety, hostility, terror, paranoid, psychosis symptoms scoredsignificantly different (P<0.05), and the score decreases as the gradeincreases; While there Is no significant difference.In the factors suchasthe somatization and obsessive-compulsive symptoms the score(P>0.05). It has showed that there are significant differences in5factorssuch as interpersonal tension, depression, anxiety, terror and psychosissymptoms of the males in each grade (P<0.05), while in the somatization,obsessive-compulsive symptoms, hostility and paranoid,4factors have no significant difference (P>0.05). It showed that the factor of hostilityof the medical students has a positive correlation to their nationality andethnic, physical health condition, the law of life, insomnia and therelationship between male and female; the factor of anxiety has apositive correlation to their grade and source of living expenses, the lawof life (life routine), insomnia and the relationship between male andfemale; the factor of terror has a positive correlation to theircommunication with others, the relationship between male and female,but negatively correlated with grade; the factor of obsessive-compulsivesymptoms has a positive correlation to to or with? their health status,learning pressure, the law of life, insomnia, communication with others,the relationship with their boyfriends or girlfriends, employmentprospects; the factor of somatization has a positive correlation with theirhealth status, the lifestyle, insomnia, emotional distress, the relationshipwith their boyfriends or girlfriends; the factor of Interpersonal sensitivityhas a positive correlation to whether they the only child or not, healthstatus, lifestyle, communication with others, relationshipwith theirboyfriends or girlfriends, and negatively correlated with grade; thefactor of depression factors has a positive correlation to their healthstatus, parents’ marital status, insomnia, communication with others,relationship with their boyfriends or girlfriendsand employmentprospects, and negatively correlated with grade; the factor of paranoid has a positive correlation to their health status, parents’ marital status,study pressure,the lifestyle, insomnia, communication with others,relationship with their boyfriends or girlfriends; There is a positivecorrelation between the factor of psychosis symptoms and their healthstatus, study pressure, insomnia, relationship with their boyfriends andgirlfriends.Conclusion: This study has used questionnaire to survey, by usingthe SCL-90scale which widely used in Chin and abroad and self-madescale to evaluated the psychological health in certain medical collegestudent and analysised the likely impacts of various factors on themental health of the medical college students. The results show hasshowed that:1. The certain medical college students’ mental health level consistentwith the national norm, the psychological problems of the totaloccurrence rate is9.8%.2. There are the top five psychological problems among the certainmedical college students are: obsessive-compulsive symptoms,interpersonal tension, depression, paranoid and hostile.3. The scores of factors of male students such as total average mark,hostility, paranoia and psychosis factor are higher than that of femalestudents.4. The scores of factors of female students has showed a difference in grade, and that trand to decreased with the higher grade except thefactor of somatization. There are significant differences in the factorsof total average marks, interpersonal tension, depression, anxiety,terror, psychosis symptoms on each grade male students, but noobvious regularity.5. The main factors affecting the psychological health of students in thecertain Medical College are: the tense relationship between male andfemale, physical health status, communication with others, learningpressure, insomnia and life pressure. In addition, the concerns on theemployment prospects and unsatisfaction to the school environmenthas a certain influenceon the students’ mental health too.
