By using the data of SERU(Student Experience in Research University),which investigated 8838 undergraduates' experience in H university in 2013,this thesis studied the students types in H university and the different learning outcomes of the different student types.Besides,the basic background information of the six categories are described,such as grades,disciplines,father's level of education and family economic conditions of the different types of students.Then this paper has studied the different learning outcomes among the six groups of students.Learning outcomes includes:grade point average(GPA),analytical and critical thinking ability,understanding abilities of professional fields,social skills,understanding abilities of the importance of personal and social responsibility,self-awareness and understanding ability,academic experience,social experience,satisfaction.This study discovered that according to the six dimensions including the course challenges,course participation,interaction between teachers and students,passive learning behaviors,learning and activity time involvement,The students are effectively classified into six groups:Disengaged?Conventionals?Maximizers?Recreationals?Independencers.Disengaged students spend less time in study and their class attendance rate is low.They do not to actively participate in class discussions and does not usually interact with teachers besides their passive learning behavior is obvious.Conventionals participation in class is relatively higher,they intend to devote more time in study.But this kind of students don't like to challenge the difficult task of learning also they are not willing to participate in extracurricular activities.Maximizers are excellent in various aspects of performance.They can not only high complete the study task in high quality but also take an active part in meaningful educational activities organized by the school.With a further analysis,this paper has also discovered that different types of students show great difference in learning outcomes such as grade point average(GPA),analytical and critical thinking ability,understanding abilities of professional fields,social skills,understanding abilities of the importance of personal and social responsibility,self-awareness and understanding ability.However they do not show much difference in academic experience,social experience or satisfaction.There are some inspirations drawing from the conclusions.School education administrators should respect the differences of different types of students and try to guide them according to their characteristics.What's more they need to pay much attention to the education process not just the outcomes.In order to improve students'involvement,school administrators ought to improve teachers' comprehensive abilities and strengthen the interaction between teachers and students.
