Cultivation of college students’ moral autonomy amplifies the theory of college moral education, and serves as one of the most essential part of contemporary college moral education;it compensates the gap between moral education and social daily life, thus would be helpful to one’s moral practice and personality,so that the society’s overall civil morality construction can be improved.Moral autonomy can be decomposed into internalized awareness of moral regulations, outstanding autonomous moral decision and adjustment capability,as well as habitual autonomous moral behaviors.Due to the negative impact of the Chinese traditional nepotism culture and society’ s being in a transitional period, college moral education has been detached from real life, underrated ’individual standard’,and lacks effective supervision-feedback mechanism;college students have exhibited a lack of self-discipline and negligence over moral education. As a result of the above listed causes, some college students display problems such as,a less stable awareness of moral regulation, weak autonomous moral decision and adjustment capability, and misdemeanor within autonomous moral behaviors. In order to realize college students’ moral autonomy,it requires the collective effort from the society, school, and individual student.Society needs to spread traditional moral culture, promote the core values of socialism, and emphasize the construction of moral system.Universities should put cultivation of students’ moral autonomy into practice, establish moral education concepts in line with cultivation of moral autonomy, and create good campus environment.Individual students need to pay attention to the development of their virtues,as well as the enhancement of their self-disciplinary capability.
