"Blank" is from the Chinese traditional painting,influenced by the ancient Chinese Taoism and the metaphysics in Wei and Jin Dynasties,such as "Being and Not-being are growing out of one another"(Laozi),"The key for words is their main idea.Once it has been understood,we don’t have to say any other words."(Zhuangzi).These philosophies laid a theoretical basis on not only the art of painting but also calligraphy and poetry,such as "flying white" in calligraphy,"blanking" in poetry and so on,which also the same for the "blank" in Chinese teaching.It generates from the "blanking" technique of Chinese traditional painting,which aims to cultivate students’ thinking abilities.It pays attention to students’ consciousness,consciously leaving blanks to leave students enough time and space to think and learn by themselves in the way of setting up enlightening and creative questions.It is a teaching method different from the cramming teaching method by changing the educational philosophy,to establish the dominant position students.With the help of blank teaching,the Chinese class will become more open,democratic and free,which enhances the actual teaching effect of Chinese class.It also helps Chinese teachers to meet the requirements of the new curriculum,which not only imparts knowledge to students,but also develops their creative abilities,thinking abilities and aesthetic taste.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part includes the research background,the literature review,the purpose of the study,the research method,the main reason for choosing the subject,the relevant theoretical basis of the research,the purpose of the study and the method.The second part explains the concept of blank in Chinese teaching and its significance.Based on the introduction of the "blank" technique in art and other categories,this paper focuses on the use of blank in Chinese teaching and the significance of Chinese teaching in junior middle school.The third part mainly introduces the principle of blank in the Chinese teaching in junior middle school practices,which are appropriateness,moderation and moderation.The fourth part focuses on the practice of the blank in Chinese in the junior middle school,how to make better use of "blanking" in Chinese teaching,including the introduction,the classroom questioning,the classroom evaluation,the job arrangement and so on.The fifth part finds that teachers do not use the blank technique properly in class,throughspecific teaching practices,interviews,experience and the reflection of teaching behavior.They should handle the blank technique in teaching correctly,in particular,neglecting the consciousness of students.Based on the reality of Chinese teaching in the junior high school,teaching experience and related teaching cases,the author of this paper generates her own understanding of the concept of blank in Chinese teaching in junior middle school.The author also finds out a practical strategy for the blank in Chinese teaching,which is based on the dialogue between teachers and students,and there are enough examples to support.In conclusion,the blank in Chinese teaching does provide not only an ideal paradigm and methods but also energy and vitality for Chinese teaching.
