In recent years,Task-based Language Teaching has become the focus of effective teaching methods. The National English Curriculum emphasizes the learning process, for developing students' comprehensive language ability. The teachers should try a new approach--Task-based approach, instead of acting in a rut.Teachers are supposed to encourage students' language learning through some activities such as experiencing, practicing, participation, exploration and cooperation and so on.New English Curriculum(2011)requires students to master the four basic abilities to listen, speak, read and write. The ability of listening and reading are included in the receptive skills while the ability of speaking and writing are included in productive skills. One of the important goals of learning English is to communicate with others in English, however, many teachers have adopted the traditional teaching methods and ignored the practice of oral English. The teachers ask the students to recite some important words and sentences, the teachers simply teach and the students simply repeat in the classroom,so that the listening and speaking ability of most primary school students is weaker than that of reading and writing. The students are not interested in English and they can not be involved into the classroom activities,so it is very hard to improve their ability of oral English. The study was made in August 25,2016.The author took two natural classes of Grade Four in a primary school in Guyuan County as subjects. This study is to prove that Task-based Language Teaching has more advantages than the traditional teaching method,it can arouse the desire of the learners to learn English, and their oral ability, especially in a brief description of the topic of daily life.
