Social Work Intervention In The Psychological Treatment Of Empty Nesters In Rural Areas

In the background of building a well-off society in an all-round way,the development of rural economy has made great achievements,but still can not meet the strong economic needs of the villagers,so most of the villagers choose to go out to work,and the number of empty nesters in rural areas is increasing.This is not only a social reality,but also a social phenomenon.From the point of view of social development,this is a positive social phenomenon.The rural youth labor force is exported to the city,which means the growth of the economy and the increase of the people's consumption demand.But from the "left behind" rural empty nest elderly point of view,it is a negative social phenomenon,children out of work will not be able to provide economic support for the elderly,but will deprive the elderly to get their children's right to take care of life.The rural empty nest elderly people lack the care of their children for a long time,the spirit is not dependent,the economic source is single and thin,life is unreliable,and many chronic diseases are tortured,and their health is damaged.All kinds of status cause psychological problems of empty nest elderly,and affect the physical and mental health.Paying attention to and solving the mental health problems of the empty nesters in rural areas can improve the well-being of the elderly,enrich the connotation of the elderly welfare services,and promote the harmonious development of the people's livelihood and rural areas.The intervention of professional social work is an important exploration and practice to solve the mental health problems of the empty nesters in rural areas.The professional methods and knowledge and skills of social work have an irreplaceable role in this field.Based on the field survey of C village in Feixi County,the basic status of the empty nest elderly in C village was mastered by the method of literature,interview and participation observation,and the psychological problems of somatization,interpersonal sensitivity,emotional disorder and compulsion were found in the empty nest elderly and the negative effects on the elderly.On this basis,the necessity of social work intervention in rural empty nest elderly psychological problems is analyzed,and the concrete measures for social work to solve or alleviate the psychological problems of the empty nest elderly in the countryside are put forward.First,the social workers use the method of case work to help the elderly release their psychological pressure and obtain the pressure events and real life.Secondly,it helps the elderly to reconstruct the social support network through the group activities,and let the old people share the past achievements in the group situation,increase the sense of honor and confidence in the elderly,get the support of the group,and learn to solve the conflicts and difficulties with the help of others;at the last,the social workers act as the middleman.We urge social policy support to alleviate the economic burden of the elderly,and hope that the elderly in the countryside will enjoy their old age.
