Basic education is the basis for improving the overall quality of the people and promoting social development.It is also the cornerstone of the entire education system and the basis for all-round development and lifelong learning.Basic education is the primary stage for every learner to learn and lay the basis for the development of each person's life.This is exactly the essential value pursuit of basic education.The "basis" of basic education refers to the basic quality that lays a fundamental role in the growth and development of educational objects.At the present stage,basic education in China means key competencies.However,nowadays some phenomena of basic education practice have seriously violated the fundamental nature and lost the "basis".Under the influence of utilitarian values,people are simply pursuing good jobs and good income.However,compared with what people think is a good job,the workplace has requirements for academic qualifications.The higher the degree,the greater the chance of employment.This concept leads people to pursue higher education.To obtain a high degree of education,we must go to a prestigious school.To enter a prestigious school,we must ask for a high score for the college entrance examination,and a good score for the college entrance examination.Driven by instant benefits and market economic interests,most primary and secondary schools in China use the entrance examination of middle school and college as batons to pursue learners' test scores.In order to cater to the entrance examinations and college entrance exams,many educators disregard students' the good habits,healthy emotions,noble morality and other aspects of development.They only attach importance to imparting contents of books.Some educators simply infuse the basic knowledge and skills into students,carrying out the classroom in a "walking in harmony",neglecting students' the learning subjectivity and losing the generative of educational process.The goal of basic education in the value orientation of utilitarianism leads to the evaluation of basic education as the only indicator to evaluate students' examination results.It lacks the development of the key competencies and overall quality of primary and secondary school students.Some of the aforementioned basic education practice phenomena have severely distorted the nature of basic education,ignoring the laws of education,and have caused far-reaching adverse effects on the overall development of primary and secondary school students.The essence of basic education is to promote the healthy development of primary and secondary school students.What society needs today is a person who has the ability to develop in many ways.The times call for basic education to return to basics.In order to cope with and solve the educational problems existing in the goal,content,process and evaluation of basic education,we must strive to achieve the following points:The goal of basic education should enrich the main body and care for life.The content of basic education must begin with the humanities and connect with life.The process of basic education must require spiritual interaction and free generation.The evaluation of basic education must follow the green indicators and focus on development.In order to realize the all-round development of human beings and achieve the sustainable development of basic education,the reform and development of basic education must always be based on the concept of education and for the accomplishment of students,so as to enable the students to make new progress in the generation of their qualifications.
