| Listening is the most important way to comprehend and obtain language information in our daily life,and is always the head of the four language skills.Listening is the main way to exchange information and communicate emotions.It is one of the most important one among all capabilities that one person has.In senior high school,listening is a significant part of English teaching.The listening comprehension questions that test students’ ability to understand and use English.Effective listening teaching can promote students’ listening ability,which becomes a basis to get the knowledge framework,implement the general goal of New National English Curriculum Standards and conform to the trend of College Entrance Examination Reform.“Suggestions on the implementation of national examination and enrollment system reform(State No.35[2014])issued by the Minister of Education in September,2014,which marked the beginning of a new round of the college entrance examination reform.Since 2016,the college entrance examination in Shaanxi province have adopted8 national examination papers.English examination is socialized.The content of the English exam for the college entrance examination newly increases the test of English part,and requires that the scores of listening are recorded in the total score of the College Entrance Examination,which undoubtedly brings new challenges to English teaching.Through the reform of English college entrance examination,the requirement of English listening has been improved.Then,teachers’ teaching and students’ learning should be in conformity with the new requirements of the college entrance examination.It conforms to the overall goal of the new curriculum standards,suits the students’ needs,move with the times,comprehensively implement the quality education,and cultivate the students’ core English competencies.Therefore,this study is aimed at the senior high schools in Hanzhong City,and explores the problems in the teaching and learning of high school English listening from the perspective of the college entrance examination,and makes recommendations.Using literature,interviews,questionnaires,and mathematical statistics,25 teachers and 535 students from Hanzhong High School,Longgang High School and Puzhen High School in Hanzhong City were interviewed and conducted via questionnaire surveys.The author sorted out the concepts of college entrance examination reform,and the current situation of listening research at home and abroad as the theoretical basis.According to the statistics and analysis of survey data,is was found that students learning mainly includes unclear listening and cognition,unclear learning attitudes,low interest in learning,and poor mentality.Listening impediments,psychological quality needs to be improved.There are lack of learning strategies,unbalanced use of strategies,lack of good listening habits and other aspects.Teachers have unclear understanding of listening skills and lack of teaching methods,ignoring students emotional factors,neglecting listening classroom teaching,neglecting listening in the teaching process,ignoring the multiple evaluation of listening teaching and other aspects.The author analyzes and discusses the existing problems and puts forward constructive suggestions.The author hopes to provide some references for the improvement and development of English listening teaching quality,offer theory support for the implementation of the college entrance examination,and create favorable conditions for the students all-round development,so as to promote English listening returns to the practical application of life.This is the starting point and destination of this study. |
