An Experiment Of Drama In Education To Improve The Students’ English Learning In Primary School

Drama in Education,or DIE,is a teaching method of using Drama or theatre techniques.In European and American countries,DIE is a very important teaching method to cultivate students’ comprehensive quality and ability.However,the excellent teaching method of DIE,which is still in the exploration stage,has not been widely promoted in China.The "English Course Standards" asks for developing learners’ comprehensive quality.The document,"the Opinion of Overall Aesthetic Education to Strengthen and Improve School Work " puts forward the student’s needs of aesthetic education.Based on the advantage of DIE,the excellent teaching method,this paper adopts literature method to study the related theory.Using the experiment method,the author applied and briefly investigated the application of DIE in primary English class teaching.The purpose of this article are as follow: if the application of DIE in primary English class teaching could improve the students’ interests of learning English and promote students’ mastery of language knowledge.Meanwhile,the author also wanted to judge the feasibility of DIE in primary English class teaching.The study finds out DIE can improve students’ interests in primary English class teaching.And to some extent,it could promote students’ mastery of language knowledge.On the other side,the application of DIE in primary English class teaching faces many difficulties.So the author put forward the improving strategies:the teachers should get command of the lessons’ time and guarantee the class plans;Group learning mode is also needed to control classroom discipline effectively;The teachers should build a rich and diverse language environment for students and gradually enhance the recognition of DIE.
