This paper mainly studies the relationship among academic procrastination,achievement motivation and academic achievement based on samples taken from three college students.College students are facing an important turning point of life--the stage of about to enter the society without social experience.Having departed from their parents and unloading the burden of college entrance examination,they are immediately under the pressure of employment.In the face of the turning point of life,according to the research at home and abroad,the university students face a lot of adaptation and academic procrastination is one of them.Academic procrastination will not only affect their learning efficiency,but also may lead to anxiety,guilt and other negative emotions,more seriously may also lead to physical and mental damage which cannot be repaired.In an era of knowledge economy and with increasing social and employment pressure,It becomes more and more important for college students to know how to overcome the difficulties of learning,better use of knowledge and cultivate the good habit of lifelong learning.One of the key factors for college students to study in school is their academic performance,therefore whether academic procrastination can lead to changes in academic performance has been a hot topic among researchers.According to the survey,academic procrastination is prevalent among college students.However,procrastination is not without reason.In all the factors that lead to procrastination,achievement motivation is the most prominent one.So what is the relationship between academic procrastination and achievement motivation,and the relationship between academic procrastination and academic achievement is the focus of this study.In this study,a total of 740 students from the Hunan Agricultural University,the Orient Science and Technology College and the Hunan Mass vocational and Technical college were asked to fill in questionnaires.The survey questionnaire uses general demographic survey and adopts the academic procrastination assessment scale PASS(Procrastination Assessment Scale-Students)in the first part,and also employs the dubbed "achievement motivation scale" co-developed by the Norway psychologist Ye Renmin and K.A.Hegtvet.Through the data analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:1.The overall academic procrastination of college students is not high,but there is widespread procrastination.There are significant differences between different schools,gender,liberal arts and science,education,father's education and academic procrastination.The degree of female academic procrastination is higher than that of male,and the degree of academic procrastination is higher than that of other grades,and the degree of delay in liberal arts is higher than that of science,and the higher the degree of education the lower the degree of academic procrastination.2.The overall achievement motivation of college students is very strong.Among them,there are significant differences between male and female students in achievement motivation scores.3.There is a correlation between academic procrastination,achievement motivation and academic achievement.There is a negative correlation between academic procrastination and achievement motivation.There is a negative correlation between academic procrastination and academic achievement.4.Achievement motivation plays an intermediary role between academic procrastination and academic achievement.
