High runs of current society and different industries further enhance the speediness and high efficiency in both works and studies.However,the behavior of procrastination is increasingly widespread.Especially for the college students,the procrastination not only becomes a main reason to hinder the achievements of their learning targets,but also adversely affects their physical and psychological health seriously.So recently,academic procrastination of college students received extensive attention of the researchers.As a manifestation of procrastination in the academic field,academic procrastination mainly refers to the act of needlessly delaying academic tasks to the point of experiencing subjective discomfort psychologically.Based on the analysis of the scientific literature,I discovered that perfectionism,failing to control oneself and lacking of achievement motivation were three very important factors among the many different kinds of reasons which cause the academic procrastination.Therefore,this research has developed the Perfectionistic Tendency Scale of college,AMS(Achievement Motivation Scale),SCS(Self-control Scale)and Academic Procrastination Questionnaire for college students as tools to carry out a questionnaire survey among 560 college students which come from 5 universities of Henan province,Sichuan province and Chongqing city,majoring to explore the mediating and moderating effect of achievement motivation and self-control on the relationship between perfectionism and academic procrastination.By the analysis of the statistics obtained,the study drew some conclusions as follows:(1)The phenomenon of academic procrastination was prevalent among college students,and the demographic variables of academic procrastination had little differences,while the demographic variables(such as major?only child or not)of perfectionism,self-control and achievement motivation had significant differences.(2)There were significant correlations among academic procrastination,achievement motivation,self-control and perfectionism.Among them,respectively,there was a significant positive correlation between perfectionism and achievement motivation,perfectionism and academic procrastination,achievement motivation and self-control;while there was a negative correlation between perfectionism and self-control,self-control and academic procrastination,achievement motivation and academic procrastination,respectively.(3)Perfectionism,achievement motivation and self-control all could forecast academic procrastination.And among them,perfectionism was a significant positive predictor of academic procrastination,while achievement motivation and self-control were significant negative predictors of academic procrastination.(4)The achievement motivation and self-control had multiple mediation effect on the relationship between perfectionism and academic procrastination.
