Writing is an important part of high school English teaching and research,which is the main form of language output.However,high school students' English writing level is not optimistic nowadays,especially the students' grammatical errors.Therefore,exploring the grammatical errors and their causes in high school English writing becomes an entry point for understanding students' writing difficulties and obstacles.It can not only help teachers to familiarize themselves with the specific situation of grammar learning of high school students,but also promote writing teaching.Based on Error Analysis,and taking 220 Grade 11 students of No.3 middle school in Huitong as the research subjects,this study collates,classifies and collects 685 grammatical errors in the writing text of their final examination papers,aiming at analyzing the causes of these errors,and enlightening the teaching of English writing in high school.At the same time,in order to understand the students' attitude towards English writing,the problems in the writing grammar,and their proposals for English writing teaching in the future,the study also conducts a questionnaire survey on 220 subjects.The research results show that the grammatical errors in high school students' English writing are mainly divided into global errors and local errors.The main reasons for grammatical errors are lack of basic grammar knowledge,the negative transfer of mother tongue,overgeneralization and other reasons,such as improper teaching methods,different learning strategies and psychological factors,etc.Finally,the study puts forward some teaching suggestions of English writing based on the above research results: consolidating the basic grammatical knowledge and strengthening the teaching of grammar knowledge;paying attention to writing training and cultivating writing habits;encouraging extensive reading and enhancing language input;treating errors correctly and changing the way of error correction;emphasizing the differences between English and native language and reducing the negative transfer of mother tongue.These are designed to provide references for teachers and students.
