The new curriculum reform is closely related to the professional development of teachers,interrelated and promoted each other,so teachers' professional development is the key to the successful implementation of the new curriculum reform.Therefore,it is urgent to investigate the status quo of English teachers' professional development according to the situation in different regions,to explore the attitude of English teachers' to the curriculum reform and to explore the teachers' professional development strategy which is compatible with the new curriculum standards.In this study,100 senior high school English teachers from three middle schools in Ganzhou were selected by qualitative and quantitative analysis methods(80 female teachers,20 male teachers,12 were selected as interviewees)to conduct a questionnaire and interview to understand the status of high school English teachers' professional development in the city,and to take the “theme-centered” data collection and analysis methods and data classification methods,from the English teacher's professional knowledge,professional ability,emotional attitude values and self-professional development awareness of four aspects of analysis.By analyzing the existing problems,this paper explores the effective strategies to promote the professional development of senior high school English teachers,and provides reference for promoting the professional development of senior high school English teachers.The survey results show that the city's high school English teachers' professional development of the main issues are as follows:Firstly,the external factors: 1.lack of training opportunities;2.lack of effective teacher evaluation mechanism;3.work pressure;4.school-based teaching and research,but lack of effect.Secondly,the internal factors: 1.lack of professional knowledge of teachers 2.lack of motivation on personal development.In view of these problems,this research,on the basis of comprehensive analysis and discussion,puts forward the corresponding countermeasures as follows: first,continuously improving the self-awareness of professional development of teachers',and unremittingly study;second,the use of reflective teaching,and constantly promoting its professional development;third,through peer assistance,training teachers cooperation awareness;and then actively participating the textbook's development and striving to become the textbook developers,optimizing management,and striving to create a good teacher professional development environment.
