Capital And Rural Society

In recent years,under the guidance of government policy and the stimulus of the market mechanism,large amount of industrial and commercial capital enter into the rural society to be engaged in agricultural production,lured by cheap land and labor resource.Shuanghaizi Village,a settlement for immigrants from pastoral area,is one of this kind of rural society,which has plenty of newly cultivated land and immigrants from pastoral area who can't do well in agriculture.Capital “from outside” is attracted by preferential policy as well as the cheap land and labor.However,capital enters into Shuanghaizi Village which is not only a geographic space but also a culture and social space.Capital is interacting with all levels of the rural society.And the interaction process has an significant impact on Shuanghaizi Village and capital “from outside”.In this thesis,the first chapter is written to describe four phases of the interaction between capital“from outside” and Shuanghaizi Village,the rural society,from the diachronic perspective.And the phenomena and results are represented in the second chapter.The content of Chapter Three is about what the rural society has experienced when faced up with capital “from outside”.In the fourth chapter,careful analysis is made about the cause of credit problem that Shuanghaizi Village has been encountering.By means of the interaction between capital and rural society,the thesis is aimed at surveying the opportunity and challenge the capital “from outside” has brought and the dilemma the rural society is stuck by as well as its reason.In the thesis,Shuanghaizi Village is taken for an example to rethink the development and predicament of ethnic immigrant settlement areas.
