Chinese teacher volunteers and native Chinese teachers together constitute Chinese teaching faculty in the Philippines.How to improve the teaching ability of the Chinese faculty is an urgent problem to be solved in the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.The article introduced the basic situation of Leyte Progressive High School in Philippines.It studied five Chinese teacher volunteers and five native Chinese teachers in Leyte Progressive High School as the research object and conducted research from the perspective of the use of classroom teaching skills.The first chapter of the article examines the use of ten basic teaching skills by ten teachers,including language skills,questioning skills,presentation skills,and writing skills.The second chapter deals with the ten teachers ' teaching skills in the process of regulation and control,including the introduction skills,organizational management skills,feedback and reinforcement skills,and ending skills.The third chapter of the article makes a comparative analysis of the teaching skills of the two groups and draws conclusions.Finally,it puts forward relevant suggestions for native Chinese teachers,Chinese teacher volunteers and training for Chinese teacher volunteers.The conclusion summarizes the content of the article,points out the innovation and inadequacy of the article,and puts forward the outlook for the improvement of the strength of the Chinese teaching faculty in the future.
