Along with the evolution of network technology and network integration, Packet switching network, represented by Internet Protocol networks andMulti-Protocol Label Switching networks, will occupy the dominant position in the next generation network. In addition, the next generation network can’t be built in an overnight.Therefore, PDH or SDH network will also be a long-term service in PSTN public voice communication business, and a large number of network users of Time-Division Multiplexing devices will still exist. In order to protect the original equipment’s, the next generation network providing TDM service is very necessary.In order to ensure that the TDM circuit switching service can perform transparent transmission on the Packet switching network, several international standards organizations have introduced their own standards and solutions. At present, the TDM circuit simulation program is the most mature, which providing more simplified processes than VoIP protocol to compete with VoIP Technology.Based on the analysis of PTN technology, MPLS-TP technology, TDM circuit simulation technology, TDM over MPLS-TP technologyand the overall framework, this thesisfocus on some key problems:firstly, through the design of SPI controller, completes the management and control of various channels of TDM interface board; secondly, presenting the clock synchronization scheme based on SERDES interface, the idea of TDM’s OAM and network protection of TDM interface board, reliable transmission of business is guaranteed; thirdly, completed the TDM circuit simulation solutions of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array, FPGA), to ensure the safety of the TDM service is transmitted to the MPLS network; fourthly, designed 32 E1 interface board bearing TDM service through the MPLS-TP message, and has been tested to meet the design requirements. This thesis is completed the forwarding of TDM information from the PTN (packet transport network) network and the receiving from another interface board normally. In this thesis, it realizes the goal of protecting customers in the traditional TDM equipment investment, and completes an attempt of smooth network evolution towards the next-generation.
