Cooperator Satisfaction In Farmer Cooperatives In The Guanzhong Area

After the <Law of the specialized cooperatives> has been issued in 2007, specialized cooperatives are increasing quickly in China. In 2014, the number of specialized cooperatives in China is about 129 million. Nowadays, there are specialized cooperatives in all the 32 provinces. Therefore, in order to solve the agricultural problems, specialized cooperatives are important organizations. This article is to discuss the problems of development of specialized cooperatives and to find the key factors of influencing satisfaction of specialized cooperatives. Finally, the article makes some suggestions to meet members' need.First, the article looks references of the research of specialized cooperatives and the theory of satisfaction in and out of China. There are two major areas about the development of specialized cooperatives. On the one hand, the research is about the participation and evaluation of the specialized cooperatives among members. On the other hand, the research is about the management and mechanism of specialized cooperatives. For the satisfaction of specialized cooperatives, there are still many applications on specialized cooperatives. As different provinces are in different geographical environment, this article takes the middle area of Shaanxi province as the example to discuss the satisfaction of specialized cooperatives among members. At the beginning of the research, the article makes a brief introduction of the development of specialized cooperatives in Shaanxi. Then, according to the research of fruit and vegetable farmer specialized cooperatives in Guanzhong area of Shaanxi province, the article makes some explanations of problems of farmer specialized cooperatives in this area. The first major problem is that there are not enough new farmers. Many problems still have to be solved. The second one is that it is hard to get money for most farmer specialized cooperatives. Farmers cannot get the subsidies from the government. The third one is that farmer specialized cooperatives who runs well cannot be independent with firms. The last one is that the rate of farmer specialized cooperatives which have the vertical and lateral integration is still low. Based on the theory and practical research, the article makes conclusions of the member satisfaction factors in the specialized cooperatives. The first part is the characters of members. They are the age, the member's degree of education, the size of cultivation, the income from the specialized cooperatives. The second part is the condition of members joining the specialized cooperatives. They are the familiarity of the specialized cooperatives, the time joining in the cooperatives, the shares in the cooperatives, the origin of the cooperatives, the technical training, the supplement of agricultural materials, the sale of agricultural products. The last part is the characters of specialized cooperatives. They are the chairman's degree of education, the capital in cooperatives and support from governments. By dualistic logistic regression model to analyze research data, it turns out that members' age, the income from the specialized cooperatives, the time joining in the cooperatives, the chairman's degree of education, the capital in cooperatives and support from governments are major factors which influence member satisfaction. In the end, the article analyzes reasons and points out some opinions. Increasing the income of members and enhancing the training of leader of the specialized cooperatives could have the higher satisfaction. The specialized cooperatives should improve themselves by enlarging the size of cooperatives in order to get a higher satisfaction.
