In the early 90’s of the last century, China started research in wireless sensor field. In 2004, it launched the research of standardization work in the two aspects of military and civilian. In 2009, after IBM put forward the "wisdom of the earth”, China has established the concept of" perception of China "on the basis of actively promote of industrialization. That is particular important for China Telecom who is relatively weak in competitiveness of mobile business and has advantages in fixed broadband. The rapid development of the Internet of things has given China Telecom such an opportunity, how to seize the opportunity to realize the strategic transformation of the enterprise is particularly critical.The paper first studies the current situation of the development of the Internet of things at home and abroad. At the same time, it analyzes the d evelopment of domestic telecom operators and the competition situation of the operators in Hunan market. Then analyzes the bargaining power of Hunan branch of China Telecom, bargaining power of buyers, threat of potential entrants, threat of substitutes, degree of competition in the industry by five forces model theory. And then analyzes the opportunities and threats faced by Hunan branch of China Telecom in the background of the Internet of things, and analyzes Hunan branch of China Telecom’s own advantages and disadvantages. Using SWOT to carry out analysis and matching, through the analysis of the four strategies, comparison, research, and ultimately determine the development strategy of the enterprise. The overall strategy of the company is the integration strategy, the concentrated development strategy, the resource integration strategy and the capital operation strategy. Competitive strategy is the differentiation strategy and cost leadership strategy. Function strategy for financial strategy, research and development strategy, human resource strategy. At last, the paper analyzes the implementation of the development strategy of Hunan branch of China Telecom based on the Internet of things and the analysis of the security measures.This paper on Hunan branch of China Telecom transformation of development strategy based on the Internet of things, gives suggestions for Hunan branch of China Telecom industry development direction and development strategy, and at the same time, this paper can be referred to the decision-making of enterprise.
