Research On The Determinants And Paths Of The Individual Income Deprivation Of Urban And Rural Residents In China

With the rapid development of economy,the income of urban and rural residents gradually has become a hot issue to academic circles,government and people pay much attention.The research on income of urban and rural mainly focus on two aspects: one is to study the determinants of income of urban and rural residents;another is to study the factors and effects of the income gap between urban and rural residents.But these researches can only generally reflect the urban and rural residents' income inequality and the changing trend;and not reflect the degree of inequality between specific individuals.In view of this paper,it introduces the new concept: relative deprivation,which can reflect of individual inequality,to income inequality,then obtain the micro indicator: individual income,which can reflect individual income inequality.Compared with determinants of income,determinants of individual income deprivation can influence individual welfare,then affect social stability,by the way of influencing individual income deprivation,which is the conclusions the determinants of individual income cannot give.From this point,the Research on determinants of individual income deprivation is more meaningful than the study on determinants of income.Firstly,this paper introduces the specific definition of the concept of relative deprivation,then selecting the appropriate relative deprivation indexes to measure individual income deprivation and reviewing the literature related to the determinants of individual income deprivation.Secondly,this paper carries out respectively the statistical analysis and econometric analysis of the determinants of individual income deprivation on the rural and urban residents using C GSS2010 data,comparing the results of two sample.And then this paper introduces the structural equation model to carry out the path analysis,in order to find interaction relationships and paths of the determinants of individual income deprivation.Finally,based on empirical results,this paper put forward more policy recommendations aimed at reducing the individual income deprivation of urban and rural residents in China.This study is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is introduction.This part mainly introduces purpose and significance of this study.Then it introduces literature review of the concepts involved in this paper,drawing technology roadmap,summing up context and introducing the innovation of this paper.The second chapter is the definition of relative deprivation,calculations of individual income deprivation and study model.This part reviews the domestic and foreign research of relative deprivation and income deprivation measure,introduces the several index of income deprivation,and compare the advantages and disadvantages between them;then gives the final choice of measure index in this paper.Finally,this paper introduces the relevant literature on the determinants of individual income deprivation in detail.The third chapter is the research model of the determinants and path analysis of the individual income of urban and rural residents in China.This part introduces several measurement methods that will be used in this thesis,including large sample robust OLS model,restricted Tobit model and structural equation modelThe fourth chapter is the empirical research of determinants of individual income deprivation of C hina's urban and rural residents.Firstly the sample groups is divided into two groups of urban and rural residents;separately it calculates the income deprivation,then according to the different characteristics the sample will be divided into corresponding group again to compare statistics result.Finally it selected corresponding variables to carry out the empirical analysis,and interpretates the results of empirical analysis.The fifth chapter is the path research of determinants of individual income deprivation of China's urban and rural residents.According to the results of the empirical analysis above,and combined with the relevant literature and theory,it uses structural equation method to explore the relationship between the factors affecting individual income deprivation and specific role paths,then obtains the results of the experiment.Finally,this paper analyses the the direct and indirect impact of different factors on income deprivation,and givse a reasonable explanation.The sixth chapter is the conclusions and policy suggestio ns.According to the results of the fourth and fifth chapter,the paper gives the final conclusions and put forward policy recommendations to reduce individual income deprivation of urban and rural residents in China..
