With economic globalization and information technology development,dramatic changes have taken place in the external business environment,making the market competition more and more fierce,so unprecedented attention is being paid onto the supply chain management.As supplier management is the premise and key job of supply chain management,the question on how to select and evaluate the strategic suppliers that match company development strategy to improve its running efficiency,reduce costs and risks has been quite important for enterprises to seek developments.Company A,as a commercial enterprise who mainly imports paper printing products,has an urgent need as well to improve efficiency of supplier management.In order to maintain industry leadership,Company A has to select out strategic suppliers that suit its development needs by setting up proper strategic supplier selection and evaluation system.This paper adopted the research method of combining the theory with the reality.Firstly,it briefly described the research status on supplier selection and evaluation at home and aboard,then gave analysis of the relevant theories on supplier management and methods of supplier selection and evaluation.Secondly,this paper introduced Company A's industry background,basic facts and situation of supplier selection and evaluation.Problems lying in the supplier selection and evaluation in Company A were detected.Thirdly,Kraljic model was used to classify suppliers and then the importance and necessity to set up strategic supplier selection and evaluation system was identified.Fourthly,after optimizing the procedures to select out strategic suppliers,an assessment team was formed to formulate the index and evaluation system and then get them quantified.Fifthly,AHP and specialists evaluating method were used to set up strategic supplier selection and evaluation system and then AB angle method was used to allocate the purchasing quantity.Meanwhile,performance appraisal was conducted periodically among strategic suppliers to promote the continuous improvements.Sixth,with the case to select out strategic suppliers of paper gift wrap,the model of strategic supplier selection and evaluation for Company A got practiced and effects predicted.Lastly,It was emphasized that strategic supplier selection and evaluation is a dynamic process that needs to be tracked and revised in due course.This research not only improves the supplier management for Company A,but also of great practical significance to optimize the overall supply chain of enterprises and improve the market competitiveness of enterprises,therefore,could be used for reference and guidance in selection and evaluation of strategic suppliers in similar enterprises.
