As economic globalization and market integration aggravating,enterprises gain huge opportunity of growing,but heavy burden of completion and challenge related also coming.If you want to grasp developing chance,you must improve your own advantage and strengthen enterprise competiveness.A company needs to rely on quality products,base on advanced technology,orient toward excellent culture,and assure valuable service.All kinds of competitive strength lie on powerful talent team.So the competition between companies is the competition of talents ultimately. We can see the importance of talent.A strong talent team comes from scientific and standardized system of human resource management.Performance management system is the important sector of human resource management system.It embodies the rationality of company human resource management work,determines the success or failure of human resource management strategy.NEXEN company belongs to the tire manufacturing industry,is a labor-intensive enterprise.Now, the tire industry faces with the situation of rising prices of raw materials and increased competition. We can improve work efficiency,the quality of products,customer satisfaction,material utilization,through scientific and reasonable performance management scheme to motivate employees to work enthusiasm.This is an important way for the company to increase profits, improve the market competitiveness.Thesis adops the method of combinating normative research and empirical research. Through a serious of analysis,we know that company attaches great importance to the performance management work and establish a scientific and reasonable performance management plan. Specification method of performance management can stimulate the motivation of employees,s and improve their work performance,then the performance of department will be increased,so we would realize the goal of enterprise efficiently.The innovation point is to set out actually from the company, find out problems existing in the performance management scheme,design improvement plan targeted.Furthermore, we have traced the implementation and evaluated the implementation effect.This thesis has used the related theory and method of performance management and the latest research results, and combined NEXEN case of performance management of the company.First, Through the investigation and study, we point out the problems that the company's performance management is as follows, performance management goal is not clear,and performance appraisal index is not reasonable, haven't made good use performance results,lacking the support of the general manager.By analyzing these problems,there comes the causes,that is not understanding the work of performance management in general, and performance appraisal standard is not scientific, lacking the incentive system, lacking performance management professionals. Then, we choose the appropriate method of performance management,and put forward a series of improvements which include establishing performance management main part, improving the performance appraisal system, making good use of performance results, etc. We also put the improved performance management plan into practice, do a good job tracking at the same time. Finally, the thesis evaluate the positive effects of the improved performance management scheme.There are mainly making the work target clear,and improving the work efficiency, performance indicators have been quantified and refined clearly, the employee satisfaction has been enhanced obviously,and so on. We also have summarized the deficiencies,so that we should improve it further.
