With the slowdown of China economic growth and severe steel oversupply in the market, Arcelor Mittal group is facing fierce completion with domestic and overseas steel manufacturers. Based on the current china market, it's critical for Arcelor Mittal group's survival or/and development in the future to make the proper development strategy in china.In the thesis, the production scale, product, market and history of Arcelor Mittal group are briefly introduced firstly. Then, global steel industry is described in terms of production distribution, demand and supply, industry profit, etc. After that, the steel production status, supply and demand, import and export, industry profit of china steel industry are presented. Besides, the main potential steel consumption areas in the future referring to infrastructure construction, automotive, oil & gas are introduced and counter measures are also proposed respectively to the steel manufacturers.Utilizing SWOT method, compared with global competit ors, the strength, weakness, opportunity and thread of Arcelor Mittal are detailed studied. Meanwhile, by use of PEST analysis, the political, economic, social and technological environments of Arcelor Mittal in china market are re searched.
