With the accelerating global economic integration, technology products of various countries in the market compete increasingly fierce. In order to protect their technology and products in the world, to create a strong barriers for their technology market, to occupy the foreign market has become the strategic goal of every nation, every enterprise. As the world's largest developed country, the strategic position of American plays a decisive role, occupying USA market has become strategic objective of all the countries in the world. As a new engine of the world economy, The BRICS are related to the global economic vitality. Science and technology is the first productivity. Understanding the science and technology of the BRICS is very important to understand the economic situation of the five countries. Especially to understand the technology distribution of the five countries in American has a very important practical significance. As a reflection and a carrier of technical innovation, and their standard reference specification, patents are suitable as the research object of technical intelligence. Their quantity and quality can be used as good indicators to reflect a country or region's scientific and technological innovation level. This paper selects the BRICS' granted patents in USA as the research objects, by using Innography, I conduct a multi-dimensional analysis of the five countries' patent type, patent quantity, patent IPC distribution, the patentee, the location of patent inventor, patent citation, and patent strength. Then through SPSS regression analysis, we analyze the factors influencing the patent strength of Chinese granted patents in the United States in empirical research.Through this article, we find that patent status of the five countries in the United States is still different, China has absolute advantage in the five countries, followed by India, the others are almost the same. In patent quantity, China is absolutely in the leading position. In the technology distribution sector, China is also concentrated in hot field, for example, mobile phone communication. We can see that China adopt the market-oriented patent output strategy, and R & D theme is close to the market demand. India is concentrated in the medicine field. The other three countries' technical focus is not particularly evident, and technological output ability is not strong. But in patent strength and the average citation number, the difference of five countries is not evidence. From the proportion of core patents, we can see that the five countries' patent strength and patent quality are not very high.As the result of the empirical study, we know that there are many factors that influence the patent strength, and we need to do future research, but the empirical analysis in this paper also provided valuable information.
