“Nanchang-Jiujiang Integration Development” is an economic development strategy put forwarded by Jiangxi provincial government in 2013, it was to coordinate the development of Urban Agglomeration in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River and to promote the development of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone, the strategy is hoped to make the two cities whose economy development were in the leading positions in Jiangxi Province-Nanchang city and Jiujiang city, aimed to promote the regional industrial deployment in harmony, resources sharing and interactive development, then to forming a development model of regional economic cooperation and leading the economic development of the whole province. In view of the basic position and important role of traffic service capacity in regional development, the researches on regional integration always tend to traffic service capacity and the level of construction in key locations, and the accessibility is a powerful indicator to evaluate the level of traffic services. In this paper, we choose to study the highway traffic accessibility analysis of Nanchang-Jiujiang Region in the view of promoting the integration is for the following reasons: Firstly, researches on integrative development regions in underdevelopment area are rare. Secondly, Nanchang-Jiujiang integration development is an important strategic plan of Jiangxi Province, its implementation can promote the economic increase industrial layout in the area. Thirdly, apply the research methods and theories on the micro level to a small and micro area, is a work of practical significance to the mean of expanding accessibility analysis scale.This research is to promote the integration of Nanchang-Jiujiang region, uses temporal distance as the index of evaluation, and gives quantitative analyses of the highway traffic accessibility from different aspects and a way of combination of multiple scales, It is to estimate weather the existing traffic infrastructure level and the traffic service capacity could satisfy the requirements in the policy of Nanchang-Jiujiang integration development. The research results are as follows: Firstly, the hour communication circles with the core of downtown Nanchang and downtown Jiujiang have covered most parts of Nanchang-Jiujiang region, Either of them can reach the other one and the cities' synchronization effect has been preliminary presented. Secondly, because of the double effects of spatial distance and traffic state, the urban road traffic system affect the exchange of convenience between the cities, it is necessary to promote the traffic capacity and the level of connectivity of the urban road network. it requires further optimization of the regional road network and promote the balance of road network layout. Fourthly, the entirely accessibility of Nanchang-Jiujiang region is in good condition, but there are great differences among the areas. The spatial pattern of accessibility presents an appearance of high-grade road direction and dense network direction. Thirdly, due to the obstructing effect of drainage, there are large differences in accessibility between two sides of a large body of water. It requires more bridges and tunnels construction to reduce the impact on accessibility level. Based on the results, we put forward some recommendations to enhance the level of the Nanchang-Jiujiang integration in view of the existing traffic construction and strategic planning.
