With the continuous development of globalization, ports increasingly evident as a country or region to participate in the development of global integration "docking space" feature. Port by absorbing flow, logistics, capital flow, technology flow, and other factors of production, has been developing rapidly. Port position in a country or region's development strategy has become increasingly important. However, in a large number of studies, from the perspective of urban planning study of port space for the few, research models and port land use functions, especially the distribution of the evolution of the port more research is even more rare.The author believes that the problem is due to produce on the one hand is in a period of rapid development of China's economy, many of the scholars concerned about the direction of the port industry and port of the city, the region's economic contribution and so on. On the other hand due to land ports generally are considered to be simple production space, and its function is simply to provide berths for vessels, port cargo and out to provide terminals, yards only. In fact, a different port, because in constant development, function vary, making the evolution of the spatial distribution of different. The impact of natural conditions by the harbor, city development and other factors, the evolution of the spatial distribution of the port there is a certain regularity and foreign scholars have been grouped into these processes in different modes, which our scholars analyze the spatial distribution of the port effectively guiding role; port to different stages of development, the state or city to locate a different environment to function port and the port is situated, will have an impact on the function of the port, and even decisive role. Therefore, I believe this paper's research is necessary.Exploring the evolution of port space, in different stages of development, different functional orientation under specific conditions and the development of the port has or should have a background of what functions, and thus promote the development of more powerful city or region, making the study more realistic development guiding significance, is the focus of this article.This paper using the "theoretical research" and "practice examples" a combination of research methods, drawing on the theory of spatial distribution of harbor scholars at home and abroad, according to the case studies mentioned in the author and his induction, cited the spatial distribution of domestic ports case; port intergenerational learning division and function, the basic functions of the port, port function under the integrated development of port functions and global positioning under different backgrounds develop a theoretical overview, and cited the case of domestic and foreign ports, and summed up the worth learning experience. After that, the author of practical projects themselves actually participate during the graduate internship, and a detailed analysis of the evolution process of Tianjin Port space; depart from the port of land use, to systematically analyze the port function and make recommendations for optimizing the function of the inadequacies of the status quo. Finally, the author summarizes the basic features of the Tianjin Port Development; and forward-looking thinking about the future direction of development of the port.This paper seeks to combine theory and practice to a more comprehensive grasp of the content of direct evolution of the spatial distribution of ports and port function of two aspects. Sought by the port functional aspects from research on the actual development of the port to help to ensure a high quality port construction to meet the port city even regional, national demand for the proposed port development.
