When the financial crisis began to spread in the world, macroeconomic growth slowed and the real estate industry faced a severe winter. Construction industry, which is closely linked with the real estate, also affected. In order to survive, the construction industry has to strictly apply cost control and reduce the loss of economic benefits of the project. Therefore, China's construction industry needs a scientific and effective to guide the project in the construction process of cost control, improving the enterprise's profitability and market competitiveness.This paper takes the M group as research object, based on the basic theory of construction cost control and earned value method, combined with the characteristics of M group, used the relevant practice of the construction cost control, to do the research on future city project construction cost control. Firstly, it introduces the current situation of construction cost control, finds the design scheme improper lead to cost overruns, improper material acceptance results in the stagnation of quantity shortage, installation of outside-window lag lead to delay of construction period, inspection time lag influences construction adjustment, then finds out the reasons of the problems, uses earned value analysis do further analysis, puts forward some suggestions for improvement in the design stage of cost control, the implementation stage and the evaluation stage, also puts forward the assurance measures in the organization, technology, economy, contract, tries to give some advices meet the requirements of both industry characteristics and actual business situation, improves the company's cost control level, keeps the competitive advantage of the company in the competition.
