Recent years, national economy slows down, under the "new normal" economic background,along with the proposed “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road "policy have brought opportunities for the development of engineering enterprises. On the other hand, to deepen the reform of geological units,geological engineering construction industry competition is getting increasingly fierce, but also to the industrial and prospecting enterprises put forward a challenge. In this situation, the author studies the development strategy of GS geological engineering limited liability company, aiming to provide help for the company to seize the opportunities and meet the challenges. This paper is mainly based on the strategic management model of Fred, R. Firstly, the article introduces the strategic management model of Fred, R. And then introduces the related concepts of strategy, analyzes the development of enterprise strategic management ideas from the sixty's to the first ten years of this century in twentieth Century. The author consulted the relevant strategic management of the relevant research data, research in the current geological engineering construction industry, the actual situation, how to achieve survival and development.GS Geological Engineering Co., Ltd, the predecessor of Gansu Provincial Geology and Mineral Resources Survey Bureau of the development and management of institutions, national geological prospecting units after localization reform. In 1998 engaged in engineering prospecting geological market operation. The Company engaged in business mainly: foundation and foundation engineering construction, geological disaster assessment, survey and management and technical advisory services. In 2015, the company has a total assets of about CNY 0.12 billion. Ten years ago, with the strengthening of China's comprehensive national strength, the company began to participate in international market competition, the construction of water wells in Africa and other business, has become the second largest enterprise in Gansu Province Foreign Engineering contracting.During these years, the company proves insufficient in technology innovation, human resource management and business structures. In this paper, by means of PEST model analysis of the macro environment analysis; by using Michael Porter's five forces model to analyze the external competitive situation of GS geological engineering company; with the SWOT model to find the company competitive advantage, inferior position, opportunity, threat and the comprehensive analysis. Through analysis and research, for enterprises to find suitable development strategy and to develop strategic goals and implementation strategies, also gives strategic implementation of security, obtains the actual effect to determine the development strategy, to further improve the enterprise's comprehensive competitive strength. After analysis, the company should mainly take the market stable penetration strategy, support the implementation of horizontal integration strategy, technology innovation strategy, development of new market strategy and joint development strategy as a development strategy. This paper has guiding significance for the sustainable development strategies of GS geological engineering company, for in the same industry, also has the significance of the development of state-owned enterprise under the same background.
