The Study On Individual Characters Of Workers Impact On Self-employment

If you review the relevant theories about labor mobility,you will find almost domestic literature only concern the occupational mobility patterns within an organization or between organizations,or regional flow.As for the self-employment,domestic academic attention is obviously insufficient,some scholars conduct research in this area only in recent years.In the few literature,we find the research focused on the income effects or the access to self-employment,and the object is mainly a certain group,such as farmers or rural migrant workers.Meanwhile,the present researches in this field are limited on a narrow range.On the basis of the predecessors,the purpose of this paper is to find which individual characters will affect the choose of self-employment.Based on the relevant theories and literature,we will put forward the theoretical model of self-employment by combination of individual characters,individual personality traits and self-efficacy.By retrospecting and analyzing personality theory and literature,my paper extract the four variables: innovation ability,risk propensity,achievement needs and internal control.Comprehensive domestic and international research on self-efficacy,we divide it into three parts:opportunity recognition self-efficacy,risk management self-efficacy and relationship self-efficacy.Personal characteristics factors are also taken into account.This paper build models and hypotheses based on this idea,and then,test this hypotheses by using SPSS exploratory analysis and SEM confirmatory analysis.The results showed as following:First,by factor analysis,15 measure indices which are related to personality traits are attributed to 4 factors: innovation ability,risk propensity,achievement needs and internal control,and the four dimensions have a positive impact on self-employment.Second,11 measurement indicators about self-efficacy can be divided into 3 factors through factor analysis,there are opportunity recognition self-efficacy,risk management self-efficacy and relationship self-efficacy.According to our research,there are positive effects between self-efficacy and self-employment.Third,through the research on hypothesis,we have learnt the four factors of personality traits have posed positive effect on self-efficacy by structural equation standardized path analysis.Fourth,through the analysis,we can get to know that the self-efficacy acts as the mediator between the personality traits and self-employment.Fifth,by the analysis of variance,we find there is no significant difference between men and women in self-employment tendency;the factor of age has no significant effect on self-employment tendency;there is a noticeable difference between the self-employment tendency at different levels of education,and the same as to Work experience,Income,Occupation and family background of self-employment.What should be noted that the specialty of labors have significant differences on average in self-employment,in other words,self-employment tendency is strongly influenced by individual specialty.
