On The Agglomeration Of Financial Services And Influencing Factors In The Metropolitan Regionof Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei

It has been the fact that the financial institutions are highly concentrated in Beijing in the process of regional economic development, which is called industrial agglomeration, the significant characteristics of financial services. It is the vital problem unavoidable in the process of regional economic integration how to employ the productive factors of financial services highly concentrated in Beijing to serve the economic development of the whole economic circle. However, it is the key prior to this that we must understand the degree of concentration and its influencing factors of "metropolitan area" in the financial services.Based on the theories related to industry agglomeration, an index suitable to measure the industry agglomeration, namely location quotient in this thesis, is employed to identify the agglomeration level of financial services in these regions. To clarify the financial service distributions in the "metropolitan area", thirteen cities in this area are selected to form a sample spanned from 2007 to 2014. Based on this, a panel data of financial services agglomeration index is constructed.To identify the influencing factors of financial services agglomeration, the panel regression is employed, in which statistical analysis is fulfilled with the regression of the financial services agglomeration index to eight indicators such as the level of economic development, the level of industrialization, the level of information, government behavior, level of opening up, the level of social reproduction, human capital, and state of finance operations, etc. It is shown by the results that the level of social reproduction has an un-significant positive effect, and the level of finance operation a reverse.Suggestions for the development of the "metropolitan area" are proposed finally in the thesis, such as to clear the regional functional orientation, and carry out different developing; vigorously develop the regional economy; rational plan and develop fixed assets investment, improve the level of social reproduction; provide adequate conditions to achieve healthy development of the financial services.
