Tourism resources is the key to the development of tourism scenic spots, there are often similar tourism resources in a tourist destination or adjacent tourist destination,and the adjacent area similar products too much, the same development is bound to produce the result of vicious competition. Grassland tourist area is based on the beauty of the natural environment, unique folk customs, distinctive national temperament, rich diet and accommodation culture as the foundation and support of the ecological system, make visitors enjoy natural beauty and cultural beauty, is an important tourist resources. At present, studies on grassland tourism mainly focuses on the qualitative research of the current development situation. In order to more clearly positioned for tourist attractions in the regional tourism development to achieve sustainable development, this paper introduces the tourism niche theory in ecology, on the basis of predecessors' research achievements of literature and expert consultation, combined with the characteristics of Yili grassland tourism, set up index evaluation system from tourism resources, tourism market, tourism services, tourism environment four dimensions,through the questionnaire and field interviews, experts and visitors with the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) to determine the weight of each index, established the grassland tourism scenic niche evaluation model and applied to Nalati, Kalajun, Kuerdening grassland tourist attractions, according to the results of the assessment and tourism niche expansion theory, tourism niche separation theory, ecological niche coordination and optimization theory from the tourism resources, market, service and environment four dimensions are proposed niche grassland in Yili River Valley Tourism development optimized development strategy.The main findings are as follows:(1)Study of grassland tourism in our country serious unbalanced, 85% of the object of study focused on the tourist area of Inner Mongolia, and xinjiang as China'ssecond largest grassland tourist area, number of documents are numbered; Yili grassland tourism has an important role in the development of xinjiang tourism, but there is a huge gap with the development of Inner Mongolia's grassland tourism.(2)Based on the AHP method to calculate the importance degree of each index in the Yili river valley grassland tourism indexes were: Tourism Resources> Tourism Market> Tourist services> Tourism Environment; According to the tourist questionnaire and using niche model calculates the Nalati, Kalajun, Kuerdening tourism niche breadth respectively: 0.3535, 0.3253, 0.3212. That Nalati scenic spot with a better competitiveness in tourism development, Kalajun completed and Kuerdening rather roughly the tourism competitiveness, but with the level of competitiveness Nalati less.(3)Through a tourism niche breadth index further calculations found Nalati resort in the tourism market, tourism services has a significant competitive; and tourism resources, the size of the niche tourism environment are expressed as Kalajun >Kuerdening > Nalati, show that Kalajun, Kuerdening resort in tourism resources,tourism environment has great potential.(4)The scenic area tourist resources value index niche width greater than the other indicators, the tourism resources, especially tourism resources value has a vital role in the development of grassland tourism and competitive advantage, Therefore,Kuerdening and Kalajun scenic grassland tourism development has great potential;two tourism niche breadth overall uneven distribution, the area has its own strengths and weaknesses in different aspects during the development of tourism based around the actual situation, adhering to the "homogenization resources, the difference of development" principle, to achieve complementary advantages to all attractions.
