An Empirical Study On The Relationship Between International Air Transportation Liberalization And Industrial Structure

Since 1978, the degree of the International Air Transportation Liberalization deepening around the world. In March 2013, "ATConf/6 " was held, which bring more liberalization in market access,ancillary service etc. Likewise, the degree of International Air Transportation Liberalization in China also gradually deepening. International Air Transportation Liberalization provide effective support for the flow of production elements in a broader range, which is conducive to resource allocation optimization and industrial structure optimization. In addition, the research have shown that the deepening of the International Air Transportation Lliberalization lead to lower prices(it can promote the import and export to some extent) and promote economic growth, whether import and export increase or economic growth have an effect on Industrial Structure.The paper try to examine the relationship between the International Air Transportation Liberalization and Industrial Structure through qualitative and quantitative analysis and also expected to help reseach on how to make international air transport serve the industrial structure optimization better.Firstly according to qualitative analysis analyze the relationship between International Air Transportation Liberalization and Industrial Structure. Secondly, based on the evaluation system of the bilateral liberalization international air transport by WTO secretariat, measure China's bilateral and overall international air transport liberalization, also China's Industrial Structure Rationalization and Industrial Structure Optimization are measured.Then take China for example, the paper ananlyze the relationship between China's International Air Transport Liberalization and Industrial Structure using multiple regression analysis, robustness testing,VAR model, Granger causality test, pulse response function and variance decomposition.Finally, take most countries around the world as the research object, adopt multiple regression analysis and robustness test to analyze their relationship. The results show that: International Air Transportation Liberalization has significant positive effect on the Industrial Structure Rationalization but does not has significant positive influence on the Industrial Structure Optimization; In the medium to longer term, both the Industrial Structure Rationalization and Optimization have positive effects on the Liberalization.
