| Since 21 st Century, China as the destination of 3rd zipper industry shift has become the largest zipper manufacturing country over the world. But with the rapid growth of zipper’s production capacity and the slow recovery of economic crisis, the competition of zipper market becomes more and more fierce. The zipper industry in China is forcing a consolidation. All of small/mini zipper companies are now facing unprecedented challenge. As they are strongly dependent on suppliers, it is urgent for them to improve the supplier management level. In this context, it is significance to build a new supplier evaluation system based on H company as research object. The new supplier evaluation system could provide objective and accurate data for company’s decisions on supplier management and purchasing strategy which will help to improve the quality of products and the competitiveness of H Company.In this paper, based on the analysis of the supply chain of zipper industry and the problems existing in H Company’s supplier evaluation, select H Company’s key supplier(dyeing factory) as object, research evaluation and selection of suppliers from five factors: the technical skills, quality, price, delivery capability, company’s background. The supplier evaluation project team established for this research build a new supplier evaluation system with 5 first-level indexes and 17 second-level indexes which combined with the characteristics of dyeing suppliers. Evaluate four dyeing suppliers based on new evaluation system and Analytical Hierarchy Process and data standardization method. The evaluation result will help H Company to take the correct purchasing strategy on dyeing suppliers. |
