Development Of Family Farm And Management Problems In Guangzhou

NO 1 document from Central government in 2013 highlighted the trend from peasant household to family farm with development of land market. The transition to family farm for China's agricultural development is very important, large-scale operation can greatly solve China Agricultural land fragmentation and inefficiency problems, but in current China, how to manage farm efficiently, to get the maximum benefit, has become a major problem.This paper focuses on the the development status and operational difficulties of family farm in Guangzhou City. In this study,we conducted the interview to Conghua and Zengcheng, Panyu, Huadu and Baiyun district government departments to understand the development of the situation around the family farm, we visited three family farms in Huadu and Zengcheng and do the in-depth analysis for them. This paper found family farm operations with problem as followed: First, the land fragmentation, lack of construction land, land rent rise year after year; the second is the high labor costs, low labor productivity; third is the lack of the financial system, a serious shortage of financial capital, financing is very limited; fourth, physical material management is not standardized; Fifth, risk is very popular, such as serious natural disasters, price fluctuations large; Sixth limited sales channels.Promote long-term transfer of land will be able to provide stable expectations for the development of family farms in Guangzhou City, to promote large-scale contiguous land collateral will be able to solve the shortage of financial capital in the farming difficulties, to provide agricultural insurance policy will be able to reduce the risk of farm operations popularization of farm management knowledge, such as land, labor, materials, basic knowledge of financial management will be able to improve the viability of farmers, improve family farm operations in the existing problems.
