Research On County Economic Spatial Pattern In Shanxi Province

With the rapid development of economy and domestic regional economic integration accelerating in our country, the county economy attracted unprecedented attention. Regional economic difference provided scientific decision for regional sustainable development. China had entered a new stage of industrialization, social development entered the new period and new urbanization strategy had come up with. In this condition, county level administrative unit as the basic administrative units, its development and the quality of the ascension are inseparable with the area where the overall level of development. By using the GIS spatial analysis method, this paper studied the spatial pattern of county economy development in Shanxi Province. It has important practical significance for planning economic and social sustainable development.In this article, taking economic development statistic data of counties (cities, districts) in Shanxi province, it describes the evolution of the economic gravity center in Shanxi Province since 2000. The paper based on the analysis of economic development level, industrial structure and the efficiency of economic activity to evaluate the county economic strength. The study reveals the spatio-temporal evolution of county economy in Shanxi Province between 2000 and 2014 by using ESDA method. According to the grey theory, using the grey dynamic prediction method to set up grey prediction model and forecasting the volume of per capita GDP level of each county in Shanxi Province between 2015 and 2020. Then the study forecasts the spatial distribution pattern of each county.Research conclusion:(1) since 2000, the evolution of the economic gravity center in Shanxi Province moving from southwest to northeast. The process of the change tendency of the economic gravity center on longitude direction is slower than latitude direction, and the imbalance on longitudinal direction is less than the latitudinal direction. (2) Economic strength has been improved in all counties during 2000 and 2014, and the total economic disparities of county level in Shanxi province have decreased then enlarged. The economic development speed of urban districts is faster than other counties. The economic development of Taihang mountain area, Luliang mountain area, the north of Shanxi Province and Yuncheng City (which are traditional agricultural area) is relatively slow. The regional economic pattern of Shanxi Province presents that counties with higher economic development index are clustered in southern and central area, while the counties with lower economic development index are concentrated in eastern, western and northern part. (3) Moran index value reveals three inflection points in 2006,2011 and 2014. The spatial correlation has experienced reduce-expand-reduce cyclical change process.
