The Study On The Relationship Between The Logistics And Economic Growth Of West China

With the deepening of social division of labor, logistics is playing an important role in the development of economy. The overall strength and market efficiency of countries and regions are well defined by the level of logistics development. Governments at all levels in China have issued relevant policy documents in order to promote the rapid development of logistics. Logistics development in western China under the influence of the late starts, thin base, immature market environment, the current level of development and operation efficiency are low. The strategies of West Development and One Belt and One Road in our county create opportunities not only for the economic development but also the rapid development of logistics in West China.In this paper, first of all, the existing literature at home and abroad were reviewed and analyzed, and then explain the mechanism of mutual promotion of logistics and economic growth.The relationships between economic growth and logistics in West China were qualitatively analyzed at the same time. On this basis, volume of goods transport, logistics transport mileage and logistics industrial added-value were chose each from the angles of supply, demand and effect to evaluate the development of logistics. GDP of were chose as the index of economic growth to empirically analyze the relationships between logistics and economic growth in West China. Analyses were carried out from two aspects. First, VAR theory were used to analyzed the dynamic relationships between logistics and economic growth in West China with the consideration of the whole West China, and the results show that the remarkable mutual promotion exist in the relationships between logistics and economic growth in West China. Second, Panel Data Model was used to analyze the diversity in the influences of logistics to economic growth in different provinces. The result shows that the dependence levels of economic growth on logistics are diverse in different provinces. The contributions of logistics to economic growth are different even with the same logistics factor in different provinces, and the contributions to economic growth are different with different logistics factors in the same province. In the end, suggestions were proposed for the harmonious development between logistics and economic growth in West China with the consideration of the practical situation in the West China according to the results of the study.
