Lithium-ion battery made by B company are superstar products in the market, their profit have been becoming lower and lower due to the increasingly market competition. Workshop layout of lithium-ion battery trial-run production line plays an important role in manufacture cost reduction, in order to cut down the manufacturing cost and increase their income, so it's important to analyze workshop layout of trial-run production line.In this paper, we studied the workshop layout of trial-run production line in company B. After depth survey and analysis, it is believed that high logistics and manufacturing cost is caused by unproper workshop layout design. Then, based on the rule of logistics cost minimization and no equipment overlapping and repetition, a mathematical model of equipment layout is established. Finally, genetic algorithm is selected to solve the mathematical model. There are a number of steps including coding, generating initial population, set up the fitness function, select genetic manipulation and set running parameters in solving the mathematical model. A solution has been obtained after optimization. This new solution will decrease the logistics cost and increase the profit obviously. The research of this paper has important reference value for other related enterprise performance improvement.
