With the speeding up of urban-rural integration, rural areas in recent years have been developing rapidly, which can be featured in economic transformation and upgrading of industrial structure. As cities develop and living standards improve, the villages with tourism resources and geographical advantages become the first choice tourists go sightseeing and are turning into tourism-based. But there are also a lot of problems in its development, such as the homogenization of tourism products, indistinctive rural experience tourism, the deterioration of rural environment and weak public facilities and other supporting facilities. This paper aims to grasp the key of the problem in the background of the rapid development of Suzhou tourism villages, and put forward some feasible strategies to promote the development of Suzhou tourism village in a good and orderly way.First of all, the basic analysis of the development of Suzhou tourism villages should be included. This paper defines the relevant concepts involved in Suzhou tourism village, summarizes the research at home and abroad, and clarifies the current research focus on tourism-oriented villages. This paper discusses the factors influencing the development of tourism-based rural areas in Suzhou from the perspective of external conditions and internal environment, as well as the present mode of participation. According to the difference in impact at different stages and in participation mode, the development of Suzhou tourism villages can be classified into three stages:beginning, development and consolidation. And the corresponding analysis referring to as the scale of operation, rural tourism facilities, and spatial layout and participation patterns should be conducted in this paper.Secondly, the paper pertinently analyzes the existing problems in the development of tourism villages in Suzhou. According to the push-pull theory, Suzhou tourism village development can be divided into two main driving forces, namely, external driving force and internal driving force. And with the action of dynamic mechanism, the development of Suzhou's tourism villages can be divided into three stages:beginning, development and consolidation. And this paper will put forward some optimizing strategies to solve all kinds of problems in the process of its development through analyzing the problems from the aspects of planning, spatial layout, resources and environment, tourism development, infrastructure and policy system.Thirdly, the paper puts forward the development strategy of Suzhou tourism villages. Taking the embodiment of rural characteristics, the rational exploitation of rural resources and the innovation of participation patterns as an anchor point of rural development, we would be easy in forming multi-level and differentiated tourism products. According to the factors such as location transportation and resource endowment, the paper puts forward two types of tourism-oriented villages: "city-dependent" and "scenic-area-dependent", and clarify their function orientation, development focus and direction. In view of these two different types of villages, the paper would propose the urban and rural interaction strategy and the interaction and mutual assistance strategy by unifying the related method about planning and design, to direct the interior spatial layout of Suzhou tourism village, the landscape construction, the distribution of tourist facilities and public infrastructure, and the arrangement of transportation system.Finally, according to the theory of life cycle and the actual situation of Suzhou Lu Xiang ancient village's development, the paper puts forward the development strategy for rural tourism resources, tourism products, rural environment, spatial structure and participation mode, so that Lu Xiang Village will be perfected in its development, making the harmonious development of tourism and villager's life come true.
