The 21st century Maritime Silk Route is a strategic vision which was put forward by the Chinese President Xi Jinping when he visited Southeast Asia countries on October 3,2013. This great strategic vision link five regions include Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Africa and Europe. It is a significant measure to reshape China historical prosperity and create a new situation for global cooperation and development. Oil and gas resources exploitation is the main focus in building the 21st century Maritime Silk Route. It plays great strategic role in forming fete community in the region, maintaining the peace and stability of surrounding areas, establishing a new international energy order and deepening the Chinese new energy diptomacy. China has relied on oil and gas import from other countries for a long time as a result of the unbalance between supply and demand. Therefore, it has great realistic significance to research the cooperation between China and the countries along the Maritime Silk Route in the areas of oil and gas resources exploitation. As a new project, there is few research about the cooperation between China and the countries along the Maritime Silk Route in the areas of oil and gas resources exploitation. I collect the theoretical basis and the significance of research from two aspects:regional economics and energy economics. Then I analyse the cooperation between China and the countries from 5 routes along the Maritime Silk Route in the areas of oil and gas resources exploitation. After that, a Grey Model is set up to predict the supply and demand for oil and gas resources in China. On this basis, I point out the key area of energy cooperation, the opportunities and challenges in the future. Finally, I put forward pertinent policy suggestions.
