The strategy of "21st Century maritime Silk Road" was proposed in the context of China's new economy era, which is a new regional cooperation model with the concept of peaceful development and mutual benefit and "win-win".Guangdong is not only an important port for opening of the maritime Silk Road, but also a big province for foreign trade in China. It should play a leading role in the strategy of "21st Century maritime Silk Road".Studying on the trade effect between Guangdong province and countries along route of the "21st Century maritime Silk Road",which has significant meaning not only in promoting the economic development of Guangdong, but also in promoting common prosperity and development of China and countries along route of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road".On the basis of studying the theory of regional economic integration and the relevant literature, this paper first describes the advantages of participates in foreign trade of Guangdong, and the economic and trade situation of Guangdong province and countries along route of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road".And analysis the trade competitiveness and complementarity between them by the TII index,RCA index and TCI index. Then, using the stochastic frontier gravity model, based on one step method, respectively measure import and export trade efficiency and potential between them.Include factors of the total economic volume, distance, per capita GDP difference affect the size of trade potential;the regional trade agreement, logistics performance, government efficiency level gap and tariff affect the trade efficiency.Based on the above studies show that Guangdong and countries along route of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" have a certain degree of competition in electromechanical industry export, but the overall trade complementarity is strong;and the implementation of "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" strategy, which promotes export trade efficiency, but weaken import trade efficiency.Overall, the efficiency of export trade is higher than that of import trade.but between different countries or regions is different. Finally, this paper put forward some proposals to promote bilateral trade cooperation, such as improve regional cooperation mechanism, the level of government efficiency, the trade structure, strengthen the infrastructure construction, promote cultural exchange and so on.
