In recent years, the rising tide of the backflow of migrant workers has changed the long-term unidirectional migration pattern from inland to coastal areas in China, which injects a new impetus to realize urbanization in out-flowing area. However, the current domestic research on the effects of returning migrant workers mainly focus on the impact of economic and social aspects, having little systematic analysis on the effects of the returning migrant workers on the urbanization in out-flowing area. The existing research objects are limited to few entrepreneurs, and ignored the differentiation between returning migrant workers. There are few field surveys of the effect of returning migrant workers in the labor-out places. In this context, this paper, taking Yongcheng city of Henan Province as an example, according to the questionnaire data obtained through survey, and using multivariate regression model and live case, discussed the effects of returning migrant workers on the urbanization of their places of origin areas from their living location, employment structure, lifestyle and social security. The results show that the human capital, material capital and social capital of returning migrant workers which accumulated in the period of migration, have a profound impact on the development of the urbanization of their places of origin areas. In the residential space, there has been a trend of transferring to the urban and purchasing house in there. On the employment structure, the returning migrant workers mainly engage in the tertiary industry and show the characteristics of "de manual". The entrepreneurs are gradually becoming a driving force for employment and economic growth. On the way of life, the family income and expenditure of the returning migrant workers are obviously improved. The consumption pattern and the social life are transferring to modernization, which promotes the connotative development of urbanization. Finally, the paper explores relevant policy implications of the above findings.
