Due to a large number of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasescasused by humans, abnormal rising of temperatures throughout the world, has a serious negative impact on human society. As a major carbon emission source, logistics industry needs to be more green and low carbon.Practical experience shows that multimodal transportation can effectively promote the development of low carbon logistics industry. At present,China’s high proportion of road transport logistics, cause large energy consumption and poor environmental cleanliness. While other low-carbon logistics, likes rail and water transportation’s capacity has not been fully utilzed. At the same time, the study of multimodal transport theory under low carbon constraint is still at the initial stage, many problems need to be solved. In this paper,we do the research about multimodal transport under low carbon constraint, and the specific work is as follows:First,a route optimization model of multimodal transportation aimed at minimizing the carbon emission is established. The model analyzes the carbon emissions during the transport process and changes in the mode of transport, with constraint of time limit. In the process of solution, this paper also considers the combination of transportation route and transportation mode, and an improved genetic algorithm is designed to calculate the example. The results show that the increase of railway and waterway transportation during the multimodal transport process is beneficial to the reduction of the whole carbon emission. For the transportation task with tough time requirement,it can be speeded up byadopting flexible and fast road transportation.Second,a multi-objective multimodal transport path optimization model, considering the carbon emissions, the time and cost.In the actual operation of the enterprise, the length of the transportation time is an important index of customer service satisfaction, and the cost is the important factor that the enterprise must consider. In order to realize the enterprise green development, reduce carbon emissions during transport, multimodal transport is been chosed, how to solve the balance between carbon emissions, the time and cost,is the difficulty of this problem. At present, the solution of multi-objective of multimodal transportation usually will be converted to a single objective. The assignment of weights and the transformation of factors have a strong subjectivity, which is not conducive to the real solution of the multi-objective problem. In this paper,we build a multi-objective multimodal transport path optimization model considering carbon emissions, time and cost, and use the improved NSGA-II algorithm to solve the model, and get the Pareto optimal.Through example analysis, the feasibility of the model is proved.Third, the quantitative study of the carbon footprint of the terminal distribution of the city multimodal transport is done.At present, the research of multimodal transport mainly focuses on the multimodal transport, and the research on city multimodal transport is less. This paper discusses the carbon footprint of multimodal transportation in the city, analyzes the modes of transport and distribution, and makes quantitative analysis based on the empirical data.Propose the use of clean energy and new distribution model like courier service points, courier storage cabinets,to achieve the terminal distribution.
