Wind And PV Power Plants Operation,Strategic Technical Issues And Competitive Business

Sustainable power supply is one of the major challenges of this century.Renewable energies are coming out as one of the sustainable solutions and being robustly supported by the socio-political framework and kicking off new market opportunities.This study aims at setting out a reporting and monitoring framework concerning the wind and solar energy issues and the current trends of a French company, Wind Prospect Operations(WPO), specialized in asset management and operations regarding the renewable energy field. WPO was established in 2008 and had been making its way within the renewable energy market and growing continuously to eventually become the largest independent wind asset manager in France. Its technical management service is in charge of the operation of the assets under well-organized management on behalf of its contractor and owner of the assets. Its expertise ensures the smooth electricity production of the power plants and it acts as the central hub for all the operations and communications between stakeholders involved at different levels in the activity.The reporting and monitoring framework is intended to enlighten the whole picture and highlight the necessary dispositions WPO taking to keep its business flourishing and sustainable. Through a thorough analysis of the power demand and supply problematic, along with the clarification of the stakes regarding the forms of power production and the impact upon the environment, this work attempts to emphasize the growing renewable energy market within a global framework,especially for wind and PV, which presses individual company such as WPO to enhance its operation process by picturing technical strategies to withstand the increasing competition. The framework will especially focus towards achievements in monitoring and reporting methods, though other topics will also be pointed out as illustration of innovative approaches. The work was carried out over the 6 monthinternship and keeps being conducted within the whole framework which is setting upstream to report and monitor the situation in which the operation business stands and the consequences upon strategies.
