Dyeing is an important step in textile production process. Dyeing technology has abandoned the old way of big dye vat operating by human beings and replaced by dyeing machine. Dyeing machines use computer technology to improve their automation level,and the monitoring together with controlling system on dyeing machine are realized. The monitoring and controlling system is convenient to operate and watch which significantly improve the dyeing efficiency and quality.This thesis mainly discusses the upgrade of dyeing machine monitoring system. New PLC and IPC are used to realize the dyeing machine monitoring system upgrade. The main aspects are: first, PLC control system design which consists of hardware and software, For hardware, we choose Germany VIPA CPU 315 PLC, Advantech TPC1571 H IPC and Siemens TP177 B touch screen. Software include PLC programming and configuration screen making. Second, upgrade IPC monitor screen. New configuration screen need to be designed according to necessary. A CP5622 is needed to communicate between IPC and PLC by MPI communication. Final, touch screen designing. Touch screen is placed besides dyeing machine to operate easily. The completed dyeing machine monitoring system can enhance machine reliability, improve system stability and reduce the cost of spare parts, which improve the performance of the entire automation and control equipment greatly.
